All 6 CS Fire Stations & Two Shifts Out on Calls Sunday Morning

Two shifts of firefighters from all six College Station fire stations were out at the same time Sunday morning.

Spokesman Bart Humphreys says at the Sonoma apartments on Dartmouth near Harvey, residents from three second-floor units were displaced because of a fire that started from improper disposal of smoking materials.

Humphreys says there were two house fires where no one was home. The first was on Leacrest Drive, north of the Anderson Park ballfields, where a tree limb fell on an electrical line serving the house.

The second, on Norfolk Court, off Alexandria Drive south of Barron Road, was due to a rear burner of a cooktop being left on.

Humphreys says the South Brazos County volunteer fire department staffed a couple of their stations while they were out on the house fires, and there no injuries.

Bart Humphreys visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
