BROWNSVILLE, Texas (AP) _ The trial of the founder of a South Texas-based cargo airline charged with distributing child pornography is scheduled to open in Brownsville.
Robert L. Hedrick goes on trial in federal court on Monday. Prosecutors say Hedrick shared images of child pornography with undercover officers from Louisiana and Wisconsin in online chat rooms from September to November 2010. He was arrested in July 2011 and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Hedrick had announced the opening of his Pan American Airways in the fall of 2010. He said the air cargo carrier would operate 70 flights per month between Brownsville and Latin American cities. The company is based at the Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport.
