Ags meet KSU again for berth in title game

he second-seeded Texas A&M baseball team will continue its run at the 2011 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship on Saturday when the Aggies face off against No. 6 seed Kansas State in a 12:30 p.m. contest at RedHawks Field.

Texas A&M (40-18) can advance to tournament’s championship game with a win over the Wildcats (36-22), who themselves would need to defeat the Aggies in the early contest and again in a 7:30 p.m. rematch later that night to punch their own ticket to the title game.

On Thursday, Texas A&M got eight strong innings from sophomore Michael Wacha to notch a 4-1 victory over the Wildcats. Kansas State, meanwhile, rebounded from the loss to defeat No. 3 seed Oklahoma 4-3 Friday night at RedHawks Field to earn a rematch with the Aggies.

Junior right-handed pitcher Ross Stripling (12-2, 1.89 ERA) will get the starting nod for the Aggies during Saturday’s contest.
