Aggies Tally Three Top 6 Finishes at US Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS — Texas A&M swimmers tallied three top six finishes on Day 3 of the Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championships Trials on Thursday at the IUPUI Natatorium.

Highlighting the impressive night for the Aggies was the runner-up finish by junior Breeja Larson in the 50-meter breaststroke. Larson, from Mesa, Ariz., touched the wall in 30.40 just behind fellow 2012 Olympian Jessica Hardy (30.24). Hardy set the world record in the 50 breast in 2009. The runner-up finish guarantees Larson a second race at the 2013 FINA World Championships after her win in the 200 breaststroke on Wednesday.

Cammile Adams, a junior from Cypress, Texas, placed fifth in the 400-meter IM in a time of 4:42.70, and Caroline McElhany, a junior from Friendswood, Texas, took sixth in the 100 butterfly in a time of 59.33.
