Aggies-Longhorns to Play Non-Conference Game in Men’s Hoops

Texas and Texas A&M are scheduled to play a men’s non-conference basketball game on December 8, 2019 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The announcement was made Friday morning via the Dickies Arena official Twitter page.

The two teams have not met in the regular season since November 25, 2015, when the Aggies defeated the Longhorns, 84-73 in the Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas.

“I’ve seen the Texas A&M-Texas rivalry first-hand, so I know how important this game is to our players, coaches and fans,” head coach Buzz Williams said. “We’re also excited about getting the opportunity to play in front of our Metroplex alumni in the new Dickies Arena. This is one of those games that generates passion from both sides and we’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Dickies Arena is a 14,000-seat multipurpose venue that will be completed in November of 2019. The facility is located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus is the result of a pioneering public-private partnership between the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, the State of Texas and a group of private-sector participants, including foundations, individuals and organizations.
