Aggie Women’s Basketball Drop to LSU And Are a 5th Seed Going Into SEC Tournament

BATON ROUGE, La.- The No. 12 Texas A&M women’s basketball team fell 80-63 at LSU on Sunday inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

The Aggies (23-7, 10-6) finish the Southeastern Conference season in a tie for fourth with LSU (16-12, 10-6), marking the 10th straight year that Texas A&M has finished in their conference’s top four. LSU receives the four seed in the SEC tournament via the tiebreaker.

LSU jumped out to a 34-14 lead by the 6:54 mark of the first half and never let up, even though A&M closed the deficit to 49-39 early in the second half.

Courtney Williams led the Aggies with 19 points, and was joined in double figures by Courtney Walker (12) and Khaalia Hillsman (10).

The Aggies begin the SEC Tournament in Little Rock, Ark. as the 5-seed on Thursday, March 5.
