Bryan Police Arrest A Bryan ISD Bus Driver On A DWI Charge

A Bryan ISD school bus on the road with students Thursday morning (September 26) struck a parked vehicle south of Midtown Park. Bryan police report no students were injured, and no one was in the parked vehicle. The bus driver, 64 year old Mark Spicker of Bryan, was arrested for DWI with passengers in the bus who were under the age of 15. What Bryan police describe as a “minor accident” took place just before 7 a.m. at Lakeview and Fairway. Online jail records as of 2:30 p.m. Thursday does not list bond being set. Bryan ISD released the following letter that was sent by the principal of Jane Long Intermediate School: In an effort to maintain transparency, while there were no reported injuries, I’m calling to inform you about a bus incident that occurred this morning. School bus # 215 scraped the side of an unoccupied parked vehicle on its way to Jane Long with students on board. Another driver arrived and drove the bus to the campus. All students are at school and their families have been notified. While the rest of the school bus routes were not involved in this incident, we wanted to let all families know that no injuries were reported. District administrators and officers from the Bryan Police Department responded immediately. Bryan PD arrested the driver under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The driver has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Business At This Week’s County Commission Meeting

For the first time in six months, the inmate population at the Brazos County jail is under 800. Sheriff Wayne Dicky reported to county commissioners on Tuesday (September 24) there were 793 inmates. The last time the inmate population was under 800 was on March 26th. The sheriff said “what we hope is that it’s the beginning of that seasonal decline. We hope that sticks.” Hear comments from Wayne Dicky from the September 24, 2024 Brazos County commission meeting.   During the same meeting, commissioners were questioned about an agreement with the Washington D.C. police department and the U.S. attorney’s office. County judge Duane Peters said the county is reimbursed for sending law enforcement officers to next January’s presidential inauguration. Peters was responding to a citizen’s comment that the winning political party should pay for those going to Washington. College Station Police Arrest For Attempting To Cash A $15,000 Forged Check And A Drone Helps Bryan Police Catch A Parole Violator

An employee of a College Station bank prevents someone from cashing a forged check for $15,000 dollars. A College Station police arrest report says they were contacted after the bank employee spoke with the account holder, who lives in Lubbock. The victim told the bank employee she had the real check that the suspect was trying to cash. 42 year old Corina Yanez from Houston, who told police she was being paid to plan a wedding but could not prove it, was arrested for forgery against an elderly person and possessing a controlled substance. Yanez is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $10,000 dollars. Seven Bryan police officers and a drone were involved in capturing a man wanted for violating parole for robbery. The BPD arrest report from Tuesday’s incident (September 24) began with a stakeout outside fast food restaurants in front of the Bryan Walmart store on Briarcrest. The pursuit began after the man left a restaurant. Officers chased him across Briarcrest, where the man jumped into the backyard of a home on Quail Hollow. The man ran to the Bryan municipal golf course where he temporarily eluded officers. About ten minutes after the chase began, the man was caught with the help of the drone on Apple Creek Circle. 18 year old Teriyan Welch of Bryan is jailed without bond on the parole violation.
