News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

The Texas A&M men’s basketball team secured a 101-49 victory over Carleton University Wednesday afternoon to finish 3-0 at the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League at the Baha Mar Resort.

In their final game of the week, the Aggies built a 45-point halftime lead before hitting the century mark for the third time in as many games. Mackenzie Mgbako once again paced Texas A&M with 17 points and five rebounds in just 14 minutes on the floor, while Lukas Walls and Jalen Reece added 17 apiece.

A breakaway layup by Zach Clemence at the 16:33 mark sparked a massive 28-3 scoring spree that saw the Aggies build a 33-7 lead by the midway point of the period. Texas A&M continued to push, matching its largest lead of the half with a 70-25 advantage at the break.

The Aggies shot an impressive 68-percent from the field (23-34) and 65-percent from beyond the arc (11-17) in the opening period as Mgbako scored 14 of his 17 points and Jalen Shelley added 13 points.

Production slowed in the second half, but the Aggies remained in control, never letting Carleton get closer than 45 points the rest of the way. The Maroon & White scored 30 points off the opposition’s 26 turnovers in the victory.
