COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies defeated the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders, 12-2, in seven innings, Tuesday afternoon on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
Offensively, Texas A&M (12-2) took advantage of the Islanders’ pitchers, drawing 12 walks on the day and out-hitting Corpus Christi, 10-4. Eight Aggies recorded at least one hit and seven batters recorded at least one walk on the day. The Maroon & White did much of their damage with runners in scoring position, going 5-for-11, while batting 4-for-9 with the bases loaded.
Cam Blake and Mikey Hoehner set the pace for the Aggies. Blake went 2-for-4 with one run, one double and three RBI. Hoehner was 2-for-4 with one run, one double and two RBI. Braden Shewmakeknocked in four runs with two sacrifice flies and a two-run single.
On the mound, Dustin Saenz (1-0) earned his first career win for the Maroon & White, throwing a career high 5.2 innings allowing two runs on four hits and two walks. Mason Cole and Kyle Richardson closed out the game, each working 0.2 of an inning. Richardson walked one while striking out one.

B5| Frizzell drew a leadoff walk and advanced to second on a lined single to centerfield by Foster. Frizzell and Foster moved into scoring position on a wild pitch, before Aaron Walters loaded the bases for the Aggies, on a seven-pitch walk. Frizzell came in to score on a walk by Morris. Blake followed plating Foster on a muffed grounder by the Islanders’ second baseman. A&M 7, A&M-CC 1
T6| Nick Anderson started the inning with a single down the third base line and moved to second on a wild pitch. Enrique Sanchez put runners on the corners with a single up the middle, before Joey Werner plated Anderson on a groundout to second base. A&M 7, A&M-CC 2
B6| Frizzell started the rally with a two-out single to left and was pinch-run for by Mason Corbett. Foster drew a base on balls and both runners moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Walters then loaded the bases for the Maroon & White on a walk. Corbett came into score on the second wild pitch of the inning. Morris drew a walk to reload the bases before Blake doubled to rightfield, knocking in Walters and Foster. A&M 10, A&M-CC 2.
B7| Ty Condel led off the inning with a single up the middle and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Allonte Wingate drew a walk before a pitcher by Islanders’ pitcher Chris Glover on a grounder by Brandon Ashy filled the bases.
