College Station Utilities (CSU) is advising customers are urged to conserve electricity during the early morning hours on Monday.
CSU officials say that’s due to tight supplies reported on the statewide electric grid from ERCOT.
Suggestions from CSU includes keeping thermostats at a maximum of 68 degrees, turning off and unplugging non-essential lights and appliances, not running large appliances between 6 and 9 a.m. and 4 until 8 p.m., including washers, dryers and electric ovens, and closing shades and blinds at night to reduce the amount of heat lost through windows.
CSU also suggests that businessowners should minimize the use of electric lighting and electricity-consuming equipment as much as possible, and large consumers of electricity should consider shutting down or reducing non-essential production processes.
