Almost five years after a Bryan man was arrested on charges for evading arrest, a Brazos County district court jury takes seven minutes to deliver a guilty verdict.

Jury selection in the trial of 70 year old Lotus Hill took longer than presenting the case, which involved one prosecution witness and the 11 minutes it took for closing arguments by both sides.

Punishment for the felony conviction will happen after a pre-sentence investigation.

Hill, who remains free on bonds totaling $10,000 dollars, still faces trials on two felony assault charges from the same incident in February of 2016.

According to online records, Hill was indicted in May 2016. And the first of eight trial dates were set in November 2017.
