Summary of Weekend B/CS Arrests

Domestic violence arrests over the weekend includes a Bryan man arrested for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. 26 year old Jose Salizar-Espinosa is accused of hitting a neighbor and his wife with an aluminum baseball bat. According to the arrest report, Salizar dragged the woman…who he had previously dated…by her hair then placed her in his SUV. He drove her out of town and threatened to kill her then go back and kill her husband. A Brazos County sheriff’s deputy stopped Salizar’s SUV north of Bryan and made the arrest. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of what were described as significant injuries to her face, head, and torso. Salizar, who admitted hitting five people with the bat, is also being held for immigration authorities.

Bryan police were called Saturday morning to a stabbing at a home on Fleetwood, off South College near Hensel Park. 30 year old Stephani Garcia is accused of stabbing her boyfriend with a kitchen knife during an argument. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of stab wounds to his right arm and elbow. Garcia is out of jail on bond.

A Bryan man who just finished serving a shortened sentence for evading arrest got caught for shoplifting then running away after leaving behind his two children, both who are under the age of two. Bryan police arrested 24 year old Arthur Gooden Jr. after he was caught by employees of the westside Wal-Mart store. Online jail records show Gooden has been arrested 14 times in the last six years. He was released in June after serving six weeks of an eight month sentence for evading arrest.

DWI arrests over the weekend included a Bryan man accused of leaving the scene of a crash Saturday night at Villa Maria and Carter Creek. According to the arrest report, two Bryan officers were conducting another traffic stop when they heard the collision and saw a car that rear-ended a SUV drive away. One of the officers followed the driver, 22 year old Daniel Kerr, until he stopped in a parking lot at Villa Maria and 29th.

And not all the action Saturday at Kyle Field involved the football game. A Bryan policeman working security responded to a disturbance on the east side, main level, in the concessions food preparation area. After a man who wasn’t supposed to be there wouldn’t leave, according to the arrest report he was shot with a Taser. It took four officers to pick him up and carry him to the security area. 21 year old Jacob Villareal of Bryan is out of jail on bond following his arrest for public intoxication and resisting arrest.
