The Texas Transportation Commission on Thursday awarded $11 million dollars in contracts in the Bryan district for four projects that will be paid by Proposition 1 funds approved by voters last year.
Two of the four projects are in Brazos County, one is in Madison County, and one is in Milam County.
Here is a breakdown from TxDOT Bryan district office spokesman Bob Colwell:
On University Drive (FM 60) in College Station from Texas to Tarrow, there is a $989,617 contract to build a median and pedestrian improvements. Construction will start in early 2016 and take two months to complete.
Highway 21 west of Bryan from Highway 47 to the railroad tracks is a $1,604,740 contract to improve crossovers and add turn lanes in the area. Construction will start after January 1, 2016 and take three months to complete.
Highway 21 in Madison County near Midway from Young’s Creek to just east of FM 2548 is a $3,009,581 contract that will add passing lanes to make it a super two highway. Construction will begin after January 1, 2016 and take six months to complete.
And FM 487 from north of Rockdale at Milam county road 402 to near the Bell County line at county road 235, a $5,587,642 contract will widen the roadway. Construction will begin after January 1, 2016 and take ten months to complete.
