News release from College Station police:
On August 01, 2015 at about 0156 hours officers responded to the 3500 block of Kenyon Dr. for a major crash. On arrival they found that a pickup truck was lying upside down in a field near here.
An investigation revealed that a silver colored Ford pickup was traveling west on Kenyon from Holleman S. at a high rate of speed. The driver of the truck struck a parked car, lost control, and left the roadway. In leaving the roadway the truck began to roll over until it came to a rest.
As the truck rolled, a passenger was ejected. This individual suffered incapacitating injuries, was taken to the hospital, and admitted to ICU. Other occupants suffered lesser, non-incapacitating injuries, were treated at the scene, and released.
The driver of the Ford was investigated and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for Intoxication Assault. He was identified as:
Gunner Johnson W/M 21 years of age
College Station resident
Intoxication Assault occurs if a person, by accident or mistake, while operating a motor vehicle in a public place while intoxicated, by reason of that intoxication causes serious bodily injury to another. This offense is a felony of the third degree, punishable by 2-10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000.
