The Brazos County Democratic Party has a new chair.

TC Langford was recently selected to succeed Maggie Charleton, who retired and moved to North Carolina earlier this year.

Langford, a 1977 Texas A&M graduate, recently returned to Brazos County to be near family.

She spent the last 20 years practicing law in the Dallas area.

Langford describes herself as a “born and raised Democrat” who considered the chair’s position “a hand in a glove” opportunity to making her available to voters to talk about local issues first.

News release from the Brazos County Democratic Party:

Recently the Brazos County Democratic Party appointed a new county chair, Theresa “TC” Langford.

“The confidence shown to me by the local Democratic Party is both humbling and challenging. Solid groundwork has been established in Brazos County over many years, and based on that groundwork, we have the ability to turn this county blue. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the county – we are even more inclusive than we have always been. The Democratic Party wants everyone to have a fair shot – and play by the same rules.” said Langford.

“We are approaching the 50th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, and we will be visible and active in the county, giving everyone the opportunity to register to vote.”

“Our office is growing and building, and we invite the public to stop by and visit with us.”

Langford is an attorney, focusing primarily in family law, mediation, criminal defense and immigration. A 1977 graduate of Texas A&M, with a degree in journalism, Langford is the parent of five adult children, two of whom are Aggies.
