Banks and Hendrix Complete Successful National Team Stint

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M rising juniors Nick Banks and Ryan Hendrix completed a triumphant run with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

The duo helped Team USA to a 9-8 record, including winning three of five games against the Cuban National Team and four of seven games versus Chinese Taipei.

Banks led the squad in batting average (.386) and on-base percentage (.453). He logged six runs, three doubles, one home run, 11 RBI and four stolen bases. While Banks hit .386, the rest of the squad managed to hit just .243. He reached safely in all 17 games on the summer.

On the mound, Hendrix paced the team with seven appearances and three saves. He pitched the ninth inning of a three-pitcher no-hitter against the Cuba on July 1. In his first six games, Hendrix yielded only one unearned run on three hits while striking out nine in 5.1 innings. In his final outing, he allowed five runs in 0.2 innings in an 8-2 loss to the USA Baseball Pan American Games Team featuring Double-A and Triple-A players.
