Aggie Men’s Golf Reveals 2015-16 Schedule

COLLEGE STATION Turning its attention towards its upcoming campaign which is set to tee off in mid-September, the Texas A&M men’s golf team released its full 2015-16 season schedule on Monday.

The new season will get underway September 18-20 when the Aggies travel to Olympia Fields, Ill., for the Fighting Illini Invitational which will be played on Olympia Fields Country Club. The team is back in action later in the month with a trip to Valentine, Neb., on Sept. 26-28 for the Jackrabbit Invitational. The event will be hosted by South Dakota State and played on the Prairie Club’s Dunes Course.

A trans-Atlantic trip to the Emerald Isle will highlight the Aggies’ schedule in October as the team ventures to Ireland’s Waterville Golf Links in County Kerry for the Irish Invitational at Waterville Oct. 22-24.

Texas A&M’s final event of the fall semester will see them on the West Coast, Nov. 2-4, for the Gifford Collegiate at the La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.

Following a break for the winter months, the Aggies return to the links and head east to compete on one of golf’s most iconic courses when they tee off at TPC at Sawgrass during the Sea Best Invitational Feb. 1-2. Two weeks later on Feb. 17-19, Texas A&M will travel west over the Pacific Ocean to the tropical Hawaiian island of Kaua?i for the John A. Burns Invitational at the scenic Wailua Golf Course.

On Feb. 29-March 1, the Aggies travel to the Pelican State where they will take part in the Louisiana Classics on Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette.

A change of scenery will have the Aggies looking out upon the mountains and the nearby Tonto National Forest during the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate which takes place at the Outlaw Golf Course in Scottsdale, Ariz., March 5-6.

Returning to the East Coast for a pair of competitions, the Aggies will be in Myrtle Beach, S.C., at the General Hackler Championship which will be held at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club on March 12-13. Moving down the Eastern seaboard, the Aggies return to the Sunshine State for the Floridian Invitational which takes place March 21-22 at West Palm Beach’s Floridian Resort and Country Club.

Texas A&M’s lone home event of the season is scheduled for April 2-3 when the Aggies host some of collegiate golf’s top teams at Traditions Club during the Aggie Invitational.

The 2016 SEC Championship will again be held at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga., on April 15-17 before NCAA Regionals take place May 16-18 at various campus sites.

The 2016 national champion will be crowned during the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore., May 27-June 1.
