After hearing from state officials, the Brazos County Clerk’s office has started issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples.
County Clerk Karen McQueen says she’s not going to force employees to issue a license if they’re not comfortable because there’s enough workers in her office…in her words…”to get the job done.”
McQueen says the state has a revised marriage license application on their website.
And until new licenses arrive, a reference on the back of the current document to the date and birth of the second male or female will be crossed out.
