Bryan Police Arrests For Animal Cruelty, Vehicle Burglaries, and Domestic Violence

A Bryan man awaiting trial in an armed robbery from last year is now accused of shooting a dog in front of his house. 19 year old Theapolis Nelson, Jr. was arrested Wednesday on a charge of animal cruelty that took place the Thursday before Memorial Day in front of his house on William Joel Bryan two blocks east of Texas. According to the arrest report, Nelson told officers he shot a black dog with a .22 caliber long rifle because it came towards him. Two witnesses reported hearing four to six shots, then they saw Nelson walking away from the dog. At the time of the shooting, Nelson was out on bond from a January 2014 armed robbery near the College Station post office where he is accused of being the getaway driver. Nelson was released from jail on the new charge after posting a $10,000 bond.

Recent vehicle burglaries in two east Bryan neighborhoods has resulted in two arrests. Bryan police say 19 year olds Joshua Valesquez and Jeremy Pfuntner and 20 year old Joshua Foster are accused of breakins in the Sienna and Sierra developments. According to the arrest report, Foster gave officers a backpack containing property taken from vehicles parked on Venice Drive. One resident also provided surveillance video, and another who lives on Alba Court said he confronted them before they ran off. All three were in jail less than two hours each before they were released on bond.

Bryan police responding to a disturbance Wednesday evening outside the Kroger store on Boonville Road resulted in an arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 29 year old Chandra Craig is accused of using her car to strike her estranged boyfriend’s car while they were both driving on Boonville in front of the store and again in the parking lot. Officers arrived to see Craig trapping the man between her car and a light pole. And the arrest report noted a history of police dealing with disturbances and allegations of family violence between the two. Craig is out of jail after posting a $15,000 bond.
