Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Recovers Multiple Firearms and Drugs

Brazos County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Bryan man and recovered multiple firearms and drugs at a Bryan residence on Thursday. According to the BCSO news release, a search of the residence on Georgia Avenue in Bryan was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. 48 year-old Kenneth Petty was charged with possession of methamphetamine, oxycodone, wax and THC vapes, and marijuana. He was also charged with manufacture-delivery of a controlled substance. According to online records, this is Petty’s 16th arrest in 29 years. News release from BCSO: February 6, 2025- This morning, deputies with the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search at a residence located in the 2900 block of Georgia Avenue in Bryan, Texas, as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. During the search, multiple firearms and narcotics were recovered from the property. As a result of the search, 48-year-old Kenneth Petty, a Bryan resident, was arrested and taken into custody. Mr. Petty was arrested for the following charges: • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 4-200g (134.5 grams of methamphetamine) • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1, 1-4g, in a Drug-Free Zone (4.1 grams of oxycodone) • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 2, 4-400g, in a Drug-Free Zone (Wax and THC vapes, 4.5 grams) • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 3, <28g, in a Drug-Free Zone (5 counts) • Possession of Marijuana, in a Drug-Free Zone, <2oz (1.35 ounces) • Possession of a Dangerous Drug (7 counts) The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a special thanks to our law enforcement partners for their invaluable assistance during this investigation. Texas A&M System Board of Regents Approve Player Development Center at Blue Bell Park

The Texas A&M System Board of Regents approve a player development center at Blue Bell Park to be built this year. Athletics Director Trev Alberts, who gave the presentation at Thursday’s meeting, said this is new Aggie Baseball Head Coach Michael Earley’s number one priority. “As you’re aware, we have some pretty good athletes in our baseball program now, and Coach Earley feels like this is his highest priority to be able to help keep, maintain and recruit the best athletes in the country,” said Alberts. Alberts says the facility includes new batting cages, a pitching lab, strength and conditioning spaces, team meeting rooms, sports medicine facilities, and new locker rooms. “In addition, the project will replace the existing field lighting and playing field at Olsen Field,” said Alberts. Alberts said approval allows them to start on this phase of the entire Blue Bell Park project immediately, with improved stadium amenities to come during FY 2026. This phase of the project is $28.3 million of the $80 million total renovation project of Blue Bell Park.
