BTU Working to Bring Back Pre-Paid Electrical Service

Customers of Bryan’s electric utility will at some point have the option again of pre-paying for power.

Councilman Rafael Pena, whose parents used that service when he was growing up, asked to bring it back.

BTU General Manager Gary Miller says their third party vendors are working to resolve operational issues.

The discussion took place as council at its last meeting updated BTU customer policies. That includes reducing the $20 reconnection fee to $5 for customers who were disconnected for failing to pay.
