There are new faces leading two local programs.
Arriving recently at the Bryan-College Station Salvation Army are Lieutenants Joe and Monica Contreras. The couple, originally from Graham Texas, completed two years of seminary at the Salvation Army in Atlanta. They are responsible for all Salvation Army church programs and social services, including a food pantry, utility assistance, and the thrift store. Joe Contreras is a third generation Army officer. The couple has four children ranging in age from 4 to 14. The Contreras’s replace Captains John and Christina Branscum, who were transferred to Lufkin.
And the Downtown Bryan Association has a new Executive Director. Cassidy Barton returns to the Brazos Valley from downtown Houston where she worked at the Heritage Society Museum at Sam Houston Park.
