Texas A&M Pitcher Tyler Stubblefield Suffers Torn ACL

Texas A&M sophomore pitcher Tyler Stubblefield is expected to be sidelined for at least three months after suffering a torn ACL in an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday.

The left-hander from Lufkin, TX appeared in 17 games for the Aggies last season, making 11 starts and going 4-2 with a 3.81 ERA in 59 innings while striking out 61 batters.

Stubblefield also hurled a complete game, four-hitter in the last year’s 3-2 win over 19th ranked Texas in the NCAA Houston Regionals.

He was expected to be the Aggies first or second starter heading into the 2015 campaign, which kicks off on February 13th at Blue Bell Park against Holy Cross.
