A Bryan man with 13 prior convictions, mostly for property crimes, is returning to prison after admitting to taking two pairs of designer boots.

39 year old Scott Jones was sentenced to 13 years by a Brazos County district court jury.

Assistant District Attorney Kevin Capps says an employee of The Mule Barn at the mall took a picture of Jones’s car after he left the store with a pair of boots December 27, 2013. Investigators determined Jones took another pair of boots the day before.

Jones was also awaiting trial for four shopliftings at local Wal-Mart stores. A news release from the DA’s office indicated Jones stole three televisions on November 21, 2013, a single television on November 30, 2013, children’s learning tablets on February 2, 2014, and a container of pesticide on February 15, 2014.

His criminal history included five prior convictions for theft, four forgeries, two misdemeanor assaults, and one for tampering with evidence and debit/credit card abuse.
