A&M Men’s Tennis Team Won 8 in Rancho Santa Fe

SAN DIEGO, California – The No. 10 Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Team won eight matches on both days of action at the Morgan Run Tournament hosted at the Morgan Run Club & Resort tennis facility in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. The maroon and white tallied wins over representatives from No. 14 Notre Dame, No. 15 California and host No. 32 San Diego, Sunday’s final rounds were cancelled due to inclement weather.

Senior Jeremy Efferding finished the weekend a perfect 3-0 on the weekend with wins over Nikhil Jayashankar of California and No. 53 Uros Petronijevic and Romain Kalaydjian of San Diego. No. 53 AJ Catanzariti joined Efferding at 3-0, winning against Petronijevic, Alex Araouzos of San Diego and Gregory Bayane of Cal.

Freshman Arthur Rinderknech had an impressive first showing in the maroon and white, also notching a trio of singles wins. The Paris, France native defeated Eddy Covalschi, J.T. Nishimura and Alex of Notre Dame.

Following their trip to California the Aggies will play host to the ITA Kick-Off Weekend with a spot in the ITA National Indoor Championships on the line. A&M will host No. 32 San Diego, No. 37 TCU, and No. 45 LSU January 23-24 at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
