A burglary alarm going off on his smartphone sent a Grimes County deputy sheriff to his home south of College Station, where he confronts his godson.

Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk says no one was injured as the deputy was able to get 26 year old Jesse Musser of College Station to surrender.

Musser is accused of firing a rifle twice, once to gain entry into the home and the second time it discharged after the butt of the firearm was used to strike the alarm panel.

Musser was also arrested for taking a Colt revolver from the deputy’s home.
