A&M Women’s Basketball Tips Early at Reed

The No. 5 Texas A&M women’s basketball team hosts 2014 NCAA Tournament participant Northwestern (La.) State in the second annual Elementary School Day at Reed Arena, with a special tip time of 11 a.m. on Wednesday afternoon. The Aggies are looking for just the second 8-0 start in school history.

Wednesday’s game is broadcast on SEC Network Plus, which is exclusively on WatchESPN. Fans can watch the game on their computers, tablets or mobile phones with Mike Wright and Tap Bentz on the call. Additionally, Bret Dark and Sydney Colson bring listeners the action on WTAW 1620 AM, and on the Radio Aggieland app.

This is the fourth matchup the Aggies have had this season with a 2014 NCAA Tournament team, sweeping the previous three. The Lady Demons won the Southland Conference Tournament in 2014, advancing to the NCAA Tournament, where they lost to Tennessee in the First Round.

The Aggies are coming off of a 63-59 win over No. 8 Duke on Sunday, erasing a 15-point second half deficit to come back to win. All three of the Aggies’ Preseason All-Americans; Jordan Jones, Courtney Walker and Courtney Williams, scored in double figures in the victory.

The Lady Demons are 4-1 in the early season, and notched a key win over in-state rival Louisiana Tech. Going back to last season, Northwestern State is 11-2 in their last 13 games, with their only losses coming to SEC foes Tennessee and Arkansas.

After this game, the Aggies hit the road for two games in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, taking on TCU on Dec. 7 (FSN) and SMU on Dec. 9. The Aggies return to Reed Arena on Dec. 13 to host Houston at 1:30 p.m.
