No. 7 Texas A&M hosts defending SWAC Champion Prairie View A&M in a women’s basketball game inside Reed Arena on Monday, November 24 at 7 p.m. The Aggies have reached the last nine NCAA Tournaments, while the Lady Panthers have made four straight NCAA Tournaments–and six of the last eight with two trips to the WNIT mixed in.
The game is an exclusive SEC Network Plus event, only on WatchESPN. Mike Wright and Tap Bentz bring viewers the call on their computer (here), or on their tablet or mobile phone on the WatchESPN app. In addition, Gabe Bock and Bret Dark bring listeners the call on KZNE 1150 AM or on the Radio Aggieland app.
Monday’s game is Fish Camp Night, as women’s basketball welcomes the class of 2018 to Reed Arena to celebrate their semester in Aggieland coming to a close. The Fish Camp group with the highest attendance will each receive a $5 Raising Cane’s Gift Card, along with many other benefits for students wearing their Fish Camp shirt.
The Aggies are looking for their fifth 5-0 start in the past seven years. Preseason All-American Courtney Walker has led Texas A&M so far, averaging 20.0 points on the season, and notching her 1,000th career point on Wednesday against Rice. Jordan Jones, also a Preseason All-American, has had three 10+ point scoring efforts, and had a double double with 11 points and 10 assists against Rice on Nov. 19.
Jeanette Jackson leads Prairie View entering the game, averaging 19.0 points against Rice and Stephen F. Austin to open the year. Prairie View’s Lamaria Cole is from Rudder High School in Bryan, and scored eight points for the Lady Panthers in their last game.
This is the second game of a five game homestand for the Aggies, which continues on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against McNeese State, with coverage on SEC Network Plus, only on WatchESPN.
