Bryan School Board Receives Update on Minority Recruitment & Retention

The Bryan school board was updated this week on efforts to hire and keep minority teachers and administrators.

Superintendent Tommy Wallis says among the challenges is keeping teachers who don’t have families.

Dr. Wallis says more will be done next year to allow teachers to network with their peers, particularly new teachers.

Wallis says not only are they competing with other school districts, but with private corporations.
