A 10 month old pup that was beaten two months ago has been adopted by a veterinarian, and College Station police made an arrest on an animal cruelty charge.
According to the arrest report, 23 year old Keannon Harper told officers he struck the shepherd mix about 20 times with a belt after the puppy tore up the apartment and ate a cable box.
Police found the belt with blood on it along with blood smears on the floor and wall.
The puppy was taken to the Texas A&M animal hospital for treatment of injuries that included head trauma, bruises, cuts, and shock.
The arrest report noted neighbors notified police after hearing yelling and banging along with sounds of a dog crying like it was being tortured.
Harper is out of jail after posting a $10,000 bond following his arrest on Friday.
