A Brazos County district court jury needed only 40 minutes to reach a guilty verdict in an aggravated robbery trial this week.

27 year old Jacob Walton of Bryan was arrested in August 2011 following a dice game involving gang members.

Walton was convicted of stealing money and breaking the jaw of a rival gang member.

During the sentencing phase of the trial, prosecutors brought up Walton’s criminal record that included a five year prison term for stabbing a 16 year old in the back.

That led to Walton being ordered to serve 53 years for the robbery.
