Aggie Men and Women Cross Country 3rd in Pre-Season Region Rankings

The first set of region rankings for the 2013 cross country season have Texas A&M men and women each ranked No. 3 in the South Central region as they prepare for the first meet of the season on Friday, August 30, in Waco.

Both Aggie teams placed third in the South Central region meet in 2012 and carry the same ranking heading into this fall. Arkansas and Texas are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in both the men’s and women’s South Central rankings.

The South Central region meet returns to Waco this season and will be held on November 15. The top two teams in the region meet automatically qualify for the NCAA Championship field.

Texas A&M opens its season this Friday competing in the Baylor Bear Twilight Invite, which will be held at the Heart of Texas Soccer Complex, which is located at 6101 Airport Road in Waco. The first race starts at 7 p.m. with a women’s 4,000-meter course followed by a 6,000-meter men’s race.
