Dog Owner Arrested For Assaulting A&M Student Worker

A College Station woman who took her dog to the A&M small animal hospital Sunday afternoon is accused of hitting a vet student twice in the face with a closed fist.

47 year old Janet Davis was arrested for misdemeanor assault after reacting to the vet student offering the dog a treat while attempting to fit a muzzle on the animal.

Lt. Allan Baron of the University Police Department says the worker was treated at the scene by A&M paramedics.

Baron says it’s rare for university employees and students to be assaulted by members of the general public.

As of Sunday evening, Davis remained in jailed in lieu of $4,000 bond.

A photo of Davis was not available from the Brazos County Jail.
