BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference, in conjunction with ESPNU, SportSouth and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS), has released the 2013 SEC volleyball television schedule. Combined, the networks will broadcast 18 live SEC volleyball matches this season, including three matches featuring Texas A&M.
The seven-match ESPNU SEC slate starts Oct. 2 with ESPNU Wednesday Night Volleyball featuring Missouri at Arkansas. The ESPNU schedule includes two Texas A&M home matches to be broadcast from Reed Arena in College Station: LSU at Texas A&M at 7 p.m. (CT) on Wed., Oct. 9 in a match-up against preseason SEC Western Division co-favorites, as well as the Aggies’ contest against defending SEC champion and preseason-pick Florida on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m.
SportSouth, whose footprint includes FS Southwest and FS Midwest, will broadcast its first of five SEC matches on Oct. 11 with a contest between Kentucky and Florida. The SportSouth schedule also includes Texas A&M’s match at Auburn on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.
Six matches will be broadcast by Comcast. Areas covered by Comcast will see matches on CSS, while areas covered by Cox (LSU, Arkansas and Florida) will see matches on CST.
Every ESPNU match will be available on WatchESPN. SportSouth and CSS matches will also be available on ESPN3.
ESPNU is available in 75 million homes. SportSouth telecasts will be distributed to over 30 million homes in the FOX regional footprint, and the CSS package will be available in more than 10 million homes.
