On July 30, 2013 at 09:20am Officers responded to an Aggravated Robbery that had just occurred in the 4100 block of Oaklawn. The victim was assaulted and his vehicle, a 2001 white Ford Taurus, was taken. The victim received minor injuries which did not require medical attention. The victim stated there were three black male subjects.
At 10:52 am Officers responded to the Commerce National Bank located at 3020 E. 29th Street for a bank robbery that had just occurred. Two male subjects entered the bank, displayed a firearm, and demanded money. One suspect is described as heavy set black male with a mustache wearing a dark T-shirt, blue jeans and baseball cap. The second suspect is described as a male with a medium build wearing grey hoodie with dark pants and had his face covered. The suspects fled in the stolen vehicle from the earlier robbery. The vehicle was then abandoned at the Grove Apartments located at 3130 E. 29th. The suspects left with an undisclosed amount of money and no one was reported injured.
