The anti-drunk driving campaign slogan of “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk” took place in Bryan over the weekend.

28 year old Lisa Ortiz of Bryan was stopped by police early Sunday morning on Jordan Loop near Leonard Road.

A family friend told 9-1-1 dispatchers Ortiz had been drinking and was leaving with her four children.

The arrest report indicated Ortiz didn’t know the ages of her children, who are 13, 11, six, and a newborn.

The friend who called 9-1-1 took custody of the kids while Ortiz went to jail, where she remains held on a $50,000 dollar bond.

Court records show Ortiz on two occasions pleaded guilty to driving without a license. And she’s scheduled to appear in court later this week to enter a plea to hitting a family member on the head with a bottle.
