Former A&M Divers Patrick, Nel Named to Aussie World Champs Team

Former Texas A&M All-America divers Grant Nel and Jaele Patrick will represent Australia at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain. Nel and Patrick both earned their spots on the national team after strong efforts at the 2013 Australian World Championships Trials in Brisbane, Queensland. They are no strangers to the international stage – Nel is a two-time World Championships veteran and was a bronze medalist at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, while Patrick competed at 2012 Olympic Games in London.Nel was a nine-time All-American from 2009-12 and was a two-time NCAA runner-up, while Patrick was five-time All-American from 2009-12 and NCAA Champion on the three-meter board in 2012.

At the Aussie Trials, Nel grabbed the victory in the three-meter dive with a score of 463.75 after posting a lifetime best score of 478.80 in the semifinals. Patrick placed second on the one-meter (274.30) and third on the three-meter board (314.10).
