It took about three hours to clean up a major accident with Tuesday on Interstate 45 between Highways 21 and 75 in Madison County.
Trooper Jimmy Morgan says an eighteen-wheeler going north whose driver was switching lanes at the 146 mile marker north of Madisonville clipped a jeep, lost control, crossed the interstate and jack-knifed in the path of another eighteen-wheeler, which struck him.
A fourth vehicle, a pickup truck, crashed into the wreck scene after the other drivers were taken to the hospital.
Morgan says all drivers were wearing seatbelts and no one involved with the wreck was local, with one eighteen-wheeler driver transported to St Joseph’s in Bryan and the other to St. Joseph’s in Madisonville, each with minor injuries.
The drivers of the jeep and pickup were not injured.
