Scammers Posing as Asphalt Pavers

The local Better Business Bureau says to watch out for con men claiming they’ll pave your road.

President Bill McGuire says they target rural communities, and it happens every year from April through October.

He says last September, a couple in Lyons lost about four thousand dollars.

McGuire says even if the BBB logo is on a business card or brochure, always check for yourself, with by calling the BBB or looking them up on the BBB website.

He says they are friendly, look professional, and use clean, new machines, but they’re just very good con men.

If you need to check a business with the BBB, call 979-260-2222.
