The Texas Reds Festival is coming up the last week of September, but signing up now as a volunteer, sponsor, or vendor can make a big difference in donations towards the Bryan Firefighter’s Association.
Spokesperson Jenna Kujawski says admission is still free, but the greater the success of the festival, the greater percentage the city will be able to give.
She says the more sponsors, the less it will cost the city to put on the festival.
In addition, instead of paying the volunteers, that money will be donated to the firefighters.
Kujawski says the donations will also directly benefit the four firemen involved in February’s Knights of Columbus Hall fire.
She says another cool element is that they’re making extra efforts to engage the downtown merchants this year and get them involved so that they can be highlighted and have steak-inspired specials, sending patrons into their doors and showing off the good food that local restaurants provide.
Kujawski says more than 700 volunteers are needed to run the festival, and sponsors who pay as little as $500 receive some great privileges.
