A&M West Campus Addressing Natural Gas Line Break & Leak

At 3:13 p.m. Gas leak near Rosenthal stabilized, resume normal activity. Borlaug safe for re-entry.

At 2:57 p.m., efforts continue to repair a punctured gas line near the Rosenthal Meat Science and Technology Center on West Campus. As a precaution, 30 individuals were evacuated from the Borlaug Center for Southern Crop Improvement (SCIC) to the Horticulture/Forest Science Building. No other facilities are impacted at the time. Students, faculty, staff, and visitors are asked to continue to avoid the area.

At 2:07 p.m. the Borlaug Building was evacuated as a precaution. Relocation was to the Horticulture and Forest Science buildings.

At 1:33 p.m. a small natural gas line was punctured near Rosenthal on west campus. Authorities are asking people to avoid the area.
