Bryan Police Arrest Seven in Gang Related Drug Bust

Seven people were arrested by Bryan Police in a gang-related case involving the sale of drugs and possession of stolen electronics.

This was at 1143 Bittle Lane, near the intersection with Groesbeck south of downtown and within 1,000 feet of Jordan Loop Park.

Seized property from two bedrooms and the kitchen included more than 1.5 pounds (797.33 grams) of the synthetic marijuana K2, valued at approximately $3,000.

Police also seized $1,600 dollars in various denominations and four surveillance cameras installed around the exterior of the house.

Child and Protective Services was also notified after it was discovered several children lived at the home and the drugs were within reach at various locations.

The police search and arrests were the result of complaints made by members of the city council among others.

The occupants of the home, 24 year old Jarieth Menchaca and 23 year old Carmen Medina, were arrested for intent to deliver K2 inside a drug free zone and possession of stolen property.

Menchaca, identified by police as a gang member, was also arrested on warrants for failing to pay child support, residential burglary, criminal mischief, and five violations of court orders.

24 year old Ricky Garcia, Jr., 25 year old David Towell, 27 year old Justin Ybarra, and 28 year old Marcelino Herrera were arrested for possession with intent to deliver K2 inside a drug free zone.

And 22 year old Juan Garcia was arrested for a Bryan municipal court warrant charging him with public intoxication.
