Brandon Moss and the Oakland Athletics played 6 1/2 hours of baseball before walking off with one tiring win. Moss hit his second home run of the night with two outs in the bottom of the 19th inning to give the Oakland Athletics a 10-8 victory over the Los Angeles Angels early Tuesday in the longest major league game of the season.
Houston Astros: Carlos Corporan homered and drove in four runs last night as the Houston Astros trashed the New York Yankees 9-1. Brandon Barnes added three hits and three RBIs for the Astros. Yankees starter Andy Pettitte was rocked for seven runs and 10 hits in four-plus innings.
Texas Rangers: The Rangers open a three-game series tonight against the Chicago White Sox. The Rangers have lost two straight games, but remain in first place in the American League West.
