All kinds of exciting new performances are lined up for 41st season at MSC OPAS, according to Executive Director Anne Black.
Although it’s sometimes tricky to try to meet the broad range of tastes represented, Black feels they’ve done a great job, particularly for age ranges within families.
She says OPAS Jr. performances include Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, and Peter Pan, while offerings for older children include two larger events that include Imago’s Frogz, and Lightwire Theater.
Black says Frogz is one of the best things she’s seen in a long, long time, and Lightwire Theater will entertain kids who are a little bit older with plenty of electroluminescent novelty.
Meanwhile, Black says audiences will love the selections for the Intimate Gathering series, which will include Beyond Glory with Stephen Lang, which powerfully salutes Medal of Honor winners, Fahrenheit 451, Christmas with the Boston Brass, and 2Cellos, a group which has played on the television show Glee.
She says the Intimate Gathering performances give audiences a chance to enjoy a smaller theater and be up close and personal with the artists, sometimes even interacting through question and answer sessions after the shows.
