CS Council Approves New Electric Substation & Delays Naming Parks

The College Station City Counil has approved a $4.6 million dollar electrical substation serving the explosion of student housing and business development in the Northgate district. This was the second round of bids because the location of the substation was moved from Finfeather Road to the corner of University Drive and Agronomy Road. The second lowest bid has been recommended because it met all specifications.

And for those who live in the Castlegate and Barracks subdivisions, the council was scheduled to approve the names of three new parks. The Parks and Recreation advisory board’s naming subcommittee recommended naming two new parks in Castlegate…Camelot and Excalibur Parks…and Barracks Park in that development. But that item was pulled from the council’s agenda and will be reconsidered later.
