Temporary Funding Approved Keeps Easterwood Tower Open

For at least the next three months, state funding will pay to man air traffic control towers at Easterwood and 13 other Texas airports.

The state’s transportation commission as part of an emergency meeting Thursday approved $2 million dollars to keep towers open for 90 days.

State officials say they’ll monitor what happens at the federal level and make a decision about keeping towers open after August.
