A record of problems between two College Station men led to gunfire in a housing development south of Wellborn.

The victim, 41 year old Willie Griffin Jr., told a Brazos County Sheriff’s deputy he was driving in the Meadow Creek subdivision off Koppe Bridge Road when a shot was fired from behind, going through the rear bumper.

Griffin called 911 and followed the suspect until his vehicle was stopped by College Station Police at Holleman and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.

Officers found a pistol with a second magazine and a spent casing and a loaded rifle.

29 year old Christopher Lee  Jones says the pistol was in his lap when it accidentially discharged. Jones was arrested for unauthorized possession of a concealed weapon and deadly conduct by discharging a firearm.

Jones is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $12,000 dollars.

Griffin is out on bonds totaling $157,000 dollars as he awaits trials on charges including aggravated kidnapping, sexual assault of a child, sexual contact with a child, and assault of a family member.
