A&M and Texas Both Looking for New Offensive Coordinator

Texas Tech has hired Texas A&M offensive coordinator and former Red Raiders quarterback Kliff Kingsbury to become the Red Raiders’ head
coach.  Kingsbury was offered the job Wednesday and Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt announced the news with a Twitter not long after.
Kingsbury coached Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel this year and was the first in a string of record-setting quarterbacks for the Red Raiders under
former coach Mike Leach. He has never been a head coach and at 33, he’ll be one of the youngest in major college football.
Kingsbury followed Kevin Sumlin to A&M from Houston, where he mentored quarterback Case Keenum and the 2011 Cougars led the nation in total offense,
passing offense and scoring.     He is a native of New Braunfels, Texas.

Former Texas co-offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin has been hired as Arkansas State’s new coach. The former Boise State offensive
coordinator spent the last two seasons with the Longhorns, during which time Texas was 16-9. Harsin says he will begin work immediately at Arkansas State and
will not coach the Longhorns in the Alamo Bowl against Oregon State.
