It’s the one writing assignment that children everywhere are more than happy to complete: letters to Santa!
Parade co-chair Penny Zent says it’s time to get Christmas lists written and checked twice, because Santa Claus himself will be receiving them at the BCS Christmas Parade.
Zent says they encourage children to bring their letters for Santa, and the elves walking alongside his sleigh will collect the letters.
She says as long as you put a return address on the envelope that he can read, Santa will answer your letter.
Meanwhile, the parade’s 111 exciting entries will also include the enduring favorite, Cat in the Hat!
However, Zent says instead of riding his bike this year, he’ll be cruising in style in a convertible driven by his daughters.
Some of the other entries will feature the Texas Aggie Band, Parson’s Mounted Cavalry, scout groups, and several schools, Zent says.
The 86th Annual Bryan-College Station Christmas Parade will start Sunday at 2 p.m. at University Drive and Polo Road, heading east on University then north on Texas before ending near Villa Maria.
There is a television rebroadcast starting Sunday at 7 p.m. on KAMU TV.
Penny Zent visits with WTAW’s Kat McMullen.
