College Station Police have received three reports in the last four weeks of dog bites where the animals have yet to be found.
Two of the cases were last week at University Dog Park involving pit bulls or mixes.
At least one of the victims has received emergency room treatment.
Sgt. Chris Perkins stresses the importance of contacting authorities as soon as possible.
Perkins also suggests to keep your dogs at leash length.

On 11/09/2012, College Station Animal Control received a report of an animal bite that occurred around 3:30 PM on Friday, November 9th at the University Dog Park. The dog involved was described as an intact male Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix, tan in color, wearing a black harness. The dog owner was a white male approximately 40 years of age with very short hair and possibly tattoo on his leg. He was seen leaving the area in a Red Dodge pickup. College Station Animal Control is asking for help from the public to locate the dog so rabies exposure to the victim can be ruled out. When located, the dog will need to be observed for ten days from the time of the bite for signs of rabies infection.
On 11/06/12, College Station Animal Control received a report of an animal bite that occurred around 5:00 PM on this date at 300 Park St. (University Dog Park). A White Female was at the park playing fetch with her dog when they were approached by a grey/blue pit bull with a white chest. The pit was seen wearing a brown leather collar with silver buttons and had cropped ears. The pit bull charged the victim’s dog and started fighting with it. The victim pulled her dog back but the pit bull continued to attack, biting the victim multiple times before the pit bulls owner could gain control of his dog. The owner of the pit bull was a Black Male in his early twenties, medium build, wearing a bright blue t-shirt and dark colored jeans.
On 10/27/2012, College Station Animal Control received a report of an animal bite that occurred around 11:00pm on 10/26/2012 at The Reserve at 3402 Treeline Dr. A white female was walking in the area when she saw a German shepherd, possibly a male, walking with its owner. The female asked if she could pet the dog, and was given permission. While the female was petting the dog, it snapped at her, scratching her on the face. The owner was described as a white male, wearing a gray dog costume with floppy ears, in resemblance to the dog in the TV show ‘Wilfred.’
